Tom Asta es uno de los mejores skaters técnicos de los últimos tiempos, capaz de lograr trucos inimaginables hace algunos años atrás. El skate cambio, y Tom es uno de los que aporto mucho de su lado para que esto pase. Sin mas preámbulos los dejo con un nuevo Top 5.

¿Cuando empezaste a andar en skate? ¿porqué?
Comencé a andar en skate cuando tenia 10 años. Mi primo tenia un skate y yo lo usaba cada vez que estaba en su casa.
Termine teniendo un skate algunos meses después y nunca deje de patinar desde esa época.

¿Cúal es la característica que debe tener una zapatilla para que la elijas?.
Zapatillas con media suela cupsole, que tengan una buena puntera. No muy puntiaguda, ni muy corta y redonda.

¿Cuál es tu época de zapas preferidas?
Probablemente los primeros años en los que empecé, 2000–2004. Para mi eran las DC Lynx y las éS Accel. La forma en la que el skate se veía en esa época era increíble.
Era una época en la que con solo mirarle los pies a alguien te dabas cuenta si patinaba o no. Ahora todo el mundo pareciera que anda en skate.

¿Hubo algunas zapas que amabas y nunca la pudiste tener?
Koston one. Salieron un tiempo antes que empezara a patinar, realmente no lo sabia hasta tiempo después, pero una vez que vi esas zapatillas, y que escuche lo icónicas que son, me enamore. Realmente desearía tener un par de éS Koston One.
También las Emerica Reynolds 3. Ya tenia sponsor cuando salieron, fue en esa época en donde las zapatillas finas y con suela vulcanizada se hicieron populares, todos mis amigos amaban esas zapatillas, pero nunca pude patinar con unas.
También me paso lo mismo con las Emerica Marc Johnson, recuerdo haber visto ese modelo años después, hubiera deseado tener un par.

When did you start skateboarding? and why?
I started skateboarding when I was 10 years old. My cousin had a skateboard and I would mess with it every time I was over his house. I ended up getting my own skateboard a few months later and never stopped skating since.

A characteristic that a shoe should have for you to choose.
Cup sole with a good shape to the toe. Not too pointy, yet not too short and round.

What is your favorite era of skate shoes?
Probably around the first few years I was skating 2000–2004, maybe? For me it was still DC lynx and éS Accels. Just the way skateboarding looked in that era was so sick. It was the times where you could tell by what someone was wearing on there feet if they skated or not. Now everyone looks like they might skate.

Were there any skate shoes you loved and never could have?
Koston one. It was a little before my time so I didn’t know until later but seeing that shoe now and hearing everyone talk about it and how iconic it is, I really wish I had a pair of those. Also the Reynolds 3. I was already sponsored when that shoe came out but that was the era of shoes getting thinner and Vulc soles getting popular and all my friends loved that shoe but I could never skate it. Also one that was a little before my time was the Emerica Marc Johnson. I remember seeing that shoe years later and wishing I could have had a pair.
